Thanksgiving at Peachbutter

Hi Gang,

Happy Thanksgiving!  This year I will be spending the holiday at my friend Peggy’s house.  She is cooking a meal for an army and all I have to do this year is show up.  I can’t begin to express my level of gratitude for this fact.  LOL  The wonder dog and I will be spending the day walking and snuggling.  Then I will be off to Peggy’s for dinner. 

This year as I add to my gratitude list, I am especially grateful my mothers help.  I am grateful for my friends and the love and support they give me.  I’m grateful for possibilities.  I’m grateful for courage and perseverance.   I’m thankful for all the blessings in my life and for the people who remind me of those blessings.   Looking at the big picture, sometimes is a bit scarey.  But looking at the little spot that is today is pretty cool.

It’s been so deliciously chilly this past week I wonder if we are going to get snow here in Ga. this year.  I hope so!  It’s so beautiful and so much fun for a day or two.  I’m sure I would feel differently if I lived further north where it lasts for weeks on end.  LOL  Enjoy your day.  Love yourself.  Love others.  Love the skin you’re dancin in!! 

Sleep Study Results and Yummy New Soaps.

Well the sleep study results are in.  I don’t have sleep apnea!  YAY that part!  I do however, have something called Alpha Intrusion Disorder.  I have chronic pain and this condition is caused when someone has chronic pain and it changes their brain waves.  This causes them not to go into a deep REM sleep, which is what I have been experiencing for a few years now.  It’s not fun.  Some nights I wake up 12- 14 times.  I’m always hurting and I always need to move or turn to sleep better.  In my case, I finally get so exhuasted that I will need a night or a weekend day to just sleep for like 12 hours.  I’m beginning to explore some homeopathic paths to pain relief.  I’ve also stopped drinking caffeine after 3:00 in the afternoon.  This seems to be helping a bit.  I’m in love with blueberry herbal tea so that’s what I’ve been drinking at night.   If any of you want to leave comments about your sleeping disorders, please feel free to do so.  Just find all the tiny writing at the bottom of the posts and click on leave a comment.  We are all in this together. 

Okay!  On to more fun topics.  I cut two logs of soap yesterday.  The first one is a cucumber scent and it is so clean smelling.  I also played around a bit with the coloring.  It was fun!   So here are the cut bars.

The second log I cut was the grapefruit/orange soap.  OMG y’all I am in LOVE with this soap.  I used a grapefruit/orange essential oil blend on this one.  It smells just like juicy ripe grapefruits and oranges.  It’s also a vegan bar.  I was kind of surprised at how long the recipe took to trace, but it was worth the effort.  I colored half the batch a light pink grapefruit color and added just a touch of yellow to the other half then mixed them.  I love the soft understated way the colors came out!  I hope y’all like these too.

Tonight I’m going to work on completing a couple of birds.  I’ve got some cute ideas for bird hats and such so I’m going to try and get that done.   I’m working on getting myself organized.  Sometimes I feel like I’m running as fast as I can on the wheel and getting nowhere.  LOL   I hope you all have a day filled with peace, happiness, tons of smiles and more love than you can hold!

Coconut Lime Verbena Soap and Sleep Study

Todays post is going to be a bit short.  I have a sleep study test to take tonight and I’ve got a million things to get done today.  Yesterday I made some coconut lime verbena soap.  I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this soap because the fragrance oil smelled really strong in the bottle.  However, I know from past experience that this isn’t always telling of how the soap is going to smell after the cure. 

Well let me tell you I was pleasantly surprised this morning!  When I woke up and opened my bedroom door, my entire kitchen/living room area smelled wonderful!  It was such a delightful way to start the day!   I’ll be putting this soap up on Peachbutter for sale tomorrow.   I’m including a couple of pictures so you can see the coconut lime goodness.

New Bird Babies In Progress and more Soap

I think I told y’all that I’ve been working on alot of new birds in the evenings lately.  I am finding it extremely calming and I am having so much fun watching them all come to life.   I decided to snap a pic of a few of the birds as they are in progress. 

So far I am totally diggin the colors and the way they all look together.  I simply can’t wait until everyone has a beak and a face.  I’m also looking for new things to dress them with.  I am falling in love with things to make hats etc. for them.  They will be ready for new homes very soon.  In the meantime you can find some of their relatives who are already looking for homes at my website Peachbutter.

This has been a very interesting week.  I have gotten some new handmade soaps made.  I am in LOVE with all of the new scents.  I even created my own blend and it turned out better than I had hoped for. 

Sexy Lil Secrets Handmade Soap

I also made a batch of soap called Enchanted Love.  This soap is so wonderful and creamy.  The lather is delightful too.  I had fun with this batch.  I added a bit of gold mica to the tops.  They look fabulous.  The scent is a soft flower with citrus combination.  It is YUMMO!!   These are also for sale on the website, so feel free to scoot on over to Peachbutter   and order some.  These soaps are going to make wonderful christmas gifts.  They will each come to you in a lovely white box wrapped in ribbon.  Just perfect for gifting or stocking stuffers.

The last batch I made this week is a scent blend I created myself.  It’s a mens soap.  It’s called Charisma and it makes me swoon.  SRSLY!!   This scent has elements of oakmoss, cedarwood, citrus and musk.  I don’t think your man can use this soap without you wanting to jump him.  LOL!   These made really big chunky and hefty bars.  I think he will love them too.
